About

Hi, and welcome to Greenhorn Living! I’m Adriane, and my blog is my chronicle of trying new things–using everyday opportunities, making the most out of what I’ve got and having fun along the way. I write about what I’ve learned so far, things that inspire me, and the trials and triumphs that come with not being an expert.

I’m a native Floridian with a healthy obsession for all things creative and new. In 2009, I landed my first career job, first house and first husband {not that I plan on any more, haha}—it was a whirlwind year!

When things calmed down, it was time to find new projects celebrating more firsts! And a blog fit the bill. Since then, I’ve tried and documented many new things, and even welcomed a daughter on Nov. 12, 2012. The first-time Mom role has been the ultimate greenhorn experience so far. These days, she keeps my husband and I busy, and we love watching her do and try new things daily!

There are many names for a greenhorn: rookie, fledgling, newbie, tenderfoot, newcomer… I believe life’s about exploration and learning as you go. You aren’t ever experienced until you’ve had the experience! Gilbert Chesterton agrees =) “The greenhorn is the ultimate victor in everything; it is he that gets the most out of life.”

Thanks for dropping by and I hope to hear from you! What will you try today?

  1. I love the accent on the positive for your blog. Wins and losses, but victorious! “Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!”

  2. Didn’t see a post for Sunday the 18th. Did I miss something?? Was there something or someone more important than blogging????? Tell me it ain’t so!!

  3. Beautiful blog. Seen a comment you had on Eat Move Write.
